In terms of in-house Flash games, we have created an original puzzle/quiz game called TombStones. Visit the Products Page for more info on our in-house developments.
Gemixin has developed several educational and serious games for a range of clients and target audiences.
The most recent of these was a serious game for the University of London called JobApp, which is being used as part of their cross-curricular drive to increase employability in students. The game features mock job applications and interviews and provides feedback on candidates responses to help them identify their strengths and weaknesses.
We have also developed a serious game aimed at employers for use within their workforce to assist with health and safety training. We created this game for a company called Game2Growth, and it consisted of 2 main game modes. The first was called Spot the Hazard where players had to identify the hazards in a scene within a time limit. The second mode was similar in game play but was based on real time, and was intended to be played for around 10 minutes per working day, with players being rewarded for maintaining their office during working hours, generating the least number of accidents. We also created a web site with social networking features (WordPress + Buddypress) and various leaderboards as part of the project.
Another slightly less game driven Flash project was for the University of East London for which we created a series of lab experiment simulations. This allowed the students to practice experiments before going in to the real life lab.
We also developed a game called Harvesting the Sunshine (for Education4Conservation) for key stage 1 and 2 children with various educational aspects (maths, patterns, coordination etc) based around the plight of the honey bee.
